Got sensitive skin? There’s some simple steps you can take to sensitive skin care.
Some people have sensitive skin, some don’t. And there are some people with sensitive skin that neednt have sensitive skin.
There’s a range of annoying symptoms that come with sensitive skin like redness and blotchiness on your skin, itchiness, dryness and lots more.
And that’s not to say sensitive skin conditions can be controlled simply for everyone, you may have a specific condition that you should consult a dermatologist for. But why not try some simple stuff first and see how it works for you.
The first thing sufferers of sensitive skin need to do is to have a look at your current cosmetics and skin care products. Because there are a whole lot of skin care products and anti aging products and cosmetics that can actually cause the problem of sensitive skin. All those face masks and blushes and creams and so on can actually be the problem.
I write extensively about the nasty ingredients that are found in many big brand name cosmetics and skin care products on my website.
Ingredients like parabens, which are used extensively in big brand skin care products as a preservative, can be dangerous. For example the cosmetics database lists 2 parabens (parabens refers to a group of chemicals, not one) as, on a scale of 1 – 10 of hazard, as being at least a 7 or an 8. Ie, in their words, high hazard.
And a chemical like a paraben can itself cause skin reactions. So, ironically, the very products that you are using may well be causing your skin problems. Maybe or maybe not, but it’s worth finding out.
And so if you change your products, cosmetics, skin care products or even soaps and shampoos and more then this alone may well fix your sensitive skin problems.
And the first time I came across this it was a personal experience. My 8 year old daughter had her first ballet concert coming up and she got made up for it, as you do.
Within an hour or 2 her face had broken out in a huge rash, and at that point we decided to do something about the cosmetics she used.
So maybe it’s time to have a look at those cosmetics on your shelves and those anti aging skin care products sitting there. If they’re big brand name products they may have some nasty ingredients in them that might be causing your problems with sensitive skin.
Use low allergenic laundry detergents too. There are many detergents that also contain ingredients that may cause skin reactions in people with all sorts of skin types. In particular wash sheets and pillow cases with low or non allergenic detergents. Rinse well and avoid any detergents, as well as skin care products and cosmetics, with fragrances.
Fragrances are also chemicals and can cause skin reactions for all skin types, including those with oily skin and healthy skin.
And if you have specific skin allergy problems a good allergy specialist can also find out if there are any other products that you could be using that are also causing problems.
What you need to do is to try out a range of low allergenic range of natural cosmetics and natural skin care products and find out how your skin reacts to these. You’ll probably notice an immediate improvement.
And we’re very lucky that there are a couple of small niche skin care and cosmetics companies that make natural skin care products and natural cosmetics that are not only perfect for sensitive skin they are also excellent skin care products and cosmetics, and at very competitive products.
They’re priced competitively because they don’t spend huge amounts on TV advertising and so keep their costs right down. They rely on their products to sell themselves once people have tried them.
And you’ll find that those big brand name products are made down to a price rather than up to a standard.
So there’s a few things for you to do if you have sensitive skin and are looking for some good sensitive skin care tips. If these don’t work then try consulting an expert like a dermatologist, but for many people with skin problems just doing these things will clear up those nasty rashes and blotches and redness and itchiness.
