Jill

Actually, what you need is an air cleaner. Our house if full of asthma & allergy folks. A bunch of sickos:)) I bought a Honeywell Air Cleaner that attaches to my centeral air/heat. It has 2 of those electrostat cells and 2 stainless steel filters. I am not sure what you call the cells, but it somehow zaps the air particles.

Don't have to dust for at least a week and as long as we stay indoors, we can breathe just fine. This is the best thing I've ever seen to help folks with breathing problems. And of course, no dusting:))
We have had it for several years and can't do without it. I don't normally recommend things, but can highly recommend this.

Neil

Replace your furnace filter with a Hepa Filter. They trap the dust and work better the more dust it holds (the dirtier it gets) It won't eliminate the dust completely, but it will help cut some of it down.
It is a bit costlier but worth it....

Holly

If you get one, be sure it has an ionizer. I have an oreck air purifier that works amazingly well. You can also buy an ionizer separately. The negative ions settle the dust and as a bonus, your house smells outdoorsy.
